Tonight’s new release
Published by runtime 360 April 1st, 2006 in Transcoding, Site NewsI think I’m on the verge of collapsing. I’m just about done setting up forums, online documentation and the various other things needed to support tonight’s release of Transcode 360 Beta 2.
Transcode 360 has gone through quite a transition since it previous incarnation, such that much of the core stuff underneath the bonnet has changed; virtually all the documentation needed refreshing and in many cases re-writing.
I’ve setup forums which I hope will make things easier when it comes to sharing knowledge, dealing with support issues and alike.
The tonights release features many of the things people have been requested, and should work out to be much simpler to install. There are a couple of smaller things that I didn’t have time to do, I hope you’ll help me out by formalising your feature requests in the forums.

Hey runtime,
Hang on! Don’t collaps! Beta2 is not out yet!
Seriously, You accomplished a hell of a job!
i hope this is NOT a april fool joke. =)
@frotee,
Look around the site and you will know this is no joke
This is definitely no joke. Runtime has worked very hard on this and is about to release a product that to me, makes my MCE experience so much more robust. I’ll be watching this site very closely for the new release so that I can run it through it’s paces…. Very excited!!!
Can’t wait… keep up the good work!
I’ve run into a bit of an issue in Beta 2:
When I try and transcode a divx/xvid file on my Xbox 360, I am getting an error along the lines of:
“The file is currently in use by another application…”
Nothing is running on my Media Center PC and no one is accessing those files. I had no issue with Beta 1, but I am getting this error with Beta 2.
Thanks in advance
